Well I certainly won't be getting rid of my tabs in Legacy event notes.
It takes a combination of tabs and spaces if the first space is really
irregular size and the tab is a set unchangeable size in Legacy, but
I've had things line up by using tabs for years.

Since you can remove them from the gedcom and replace with the html form
of the tab by just checking a checkbox, WHY would you get rid of them?
You need to do that for bold and italics etc anyway.
