Confirmed. It's the "Potential Problems Indicator" that was slowing everything down. I changed my setting and now the response is back to the expected near instantaneous.
Wonder why it became so prevalent on the last upgrade. Or was it that it was slowing things down all along and we just now noticed it? I thought it was my disk slowing down due to age, but it turns out it was Legacy's "potential problems" feature. If I turn that off everything is normal.
