Actually, the mapping in Legacy is quite good when dealing with most locations.
Bing maps (the old version) seems more accurate than the new. Depending on the
country, Bing or Google may have closer views of the location - governmental
bias, perhaps. Google has better 3D.

Using Legacy's Bing, I can often pinpoint the exact building more easily than
with other mapping programs, of which I use many. I always use exact
coordinates for churches, castles, houses, gravestones (when possible), et alia.

By the way, I have been able to pinpoint in Bing every Finnish site mentioned
earlier in the thread.

Legacy's ability to convert from decimal to degrees and vice-versa is a
god-send!!

I agree that the mapping in Legacy needs significant improvements. I am
constantly correcting it.

I'm getting crazy at the maps provided by Bing
I have several hundreds of small islands in the Baltic Sea where I know people
have been born, lived and died, sometimes there are still living people.
These islands do not exist according to Bing, when I enter their names guesses
Bing and misplace them, often in the Mojave Desert or in Africa, and when I
enter the coordinates they become pinned in the middle of nowhere
Also, the shore profiles of the islands found is so rough that they are
impossible to recognize.

But Google Maps knows them and find them accurate with much better quality.

Give me Google maps as a alternative in Legacy!
