Pat,
The Media Relinker can be confined to search just the drive you have
your images on but can't be restricted by folder.
The programmer refused to go further than that because of experience
helping people and finding that their missing media was in all sorts of
weird folders you probably haven't heard of.
You trim old messages simply by highlighting and deleting in your reply
the bits you don't want.
As to your other experience, I don't know. You seem to have gone the
really hard way around to rename some files. Learn to use the Picture
Centre.

Well, now, this is odd. When I go into Legacy (not using the Picture
Center yet) to check on the missing files, it shows the new file names
and I don't have to change them, just reattach them. Does that make
sense? To explain further, let's say it tells me I'm missing an 1880
census for John Brown, I go to John Brown's entry, find the 1880
census entry, click Edit (there is no picture in the lower right), I
right-click on the picture icon, am told the picture is missing, I opt
to browse for the file myself, am given the "old" filename (/i.e./,
the new, amended filename I had recently given the image) and all I
have to do is to click "Open" and it reappears (whereas ordinarily I
would have to modify the filename to find it).
I hope that makes sense.
Another thing I absolutely do not understand. If I go for the option
to have Legacy search for the missing image/file, Legacy does NOT
begin by looking in either of the two folders I use to save my images
for Legacy, but instead looks in folders I've never heard of before.
Does that make any sense whatsoever???
Also, how do I trim the old messages from this email??
