Jay,
It does.
But your guess was not the relevant tag.
They are exporting as a sub-category of some other tag.

Cathy,

I did not try it. I (guess i wrongly assumed)
the the great customising menu Legacy has for exporting a gedcom
would "include" ALL the available event types that would be possible within the legacy data file.

The original message to the list is in the attachment.

This action is required because of the DMARC Reject/Quarantine Policy
imposed by some email providers. Users who want to send messages
without conversion to attachments should use a different email address
for their subscription.

Known providers for free email accounts whose emails do not require
this conversion include gmail.com and hotmail.com. Many other email
providers will also work but you will have to give them a try.

Denise,

Have you sent in a suggestion?
As far as I can see you can't remove this via the current Customisation options.

Jay,
Did you try your suggestion?
As far as I can see that's not one of the available tags in Customise.
Also from the snippet of Gedcom given, it's not the tag that's used if I've understood the Gedcom correctly.

Cathy

Hi Jay,

No, not really. What I was hoping for was a simple option switch to turn off
the export of url links that the user can add through the Media Gallery.
The GEDCOM code for a url link is:

3 OBJE
4 FORM URL
4 FILE
http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&db=1880usfedcen&ran
k=1&new=1&MSAV=1&msT=1&gss=angs-d&gsfn=william+henry&gsfn_x=NN&gsln=hu
yck&gsln_x=NP_NN&msrpn__ftp=crystal%2c+montcalm%2c+michigan&dbOnly=_83
004005%7c_83004005_x%2c_83004006%7c_83004006_x%2c_F000686E%7c_F000686E
x&uidh=3lw&pcat=35&fh=0&h=22600232&recoff=&ml_rpos=1
4 TITL Source Detail Web URL
4 _TYPE URL

This option (last line) uses a special GEDCOM code (designated by the
underscore). Oh, thanks for the 'reminder' on how to open a GEDCOM file.
After retiring from the military in late 1983, I spent nearly 30 years
working on the technical side of Silicon Valley's high tech industry so do
have a 'bit' of experience. I actually began moving 20 years of paper
genealogy to computers (CPM+, later DOS, and much later Windows) after
beginning in the computer industry many years ago.

<sigh> Wish I had a dollar for every time I've heard that during the nearly
three decades I worked in Silicon Valley. The number of senior managers,
developers, tech support, project managers, product marketing, etc. who
have told me at one time or another that they handle 'this or that' and
everyone else is wrong is staggering.

Anyway, thanks for your response,

Denise

Denise,
I think the problem is in the gedcom imports on your other programs.
Legacy always uses the same place location for linked images and that will
will output the same in any resulting gedcom creation.
What OTHER programs do with the same place images might be the problem you
see....
Here is an example of some gedcom data
(Always open a gedcom in a special text editor program line Notepad++ to
properly see the data)
You will see the same image is always outputted the same way.....
