The download pages added a Captcha several months ago.

Maybe your freeze was because you did not see and click on the Captcha and were also blocking the error page from loading. The original posting in this thread mentioned an error page the user got saying the download failed because his submission had failed the robot test.

PS. This only affects those who download from the website. An update from within legacy does not have the robot test Captcha. You did not say if you were updating from the web site or from Legacy.

Just tried another browser -- Internet Explorer instead of Firefox.

Still no Captcha box visible.
