There is an enhancement suggestion about not changing options 6.1 and 6.2 to defaults when an external drive is not available, this includes network drives as well as plug in drives like flash drives etc.

Thanks Jack.

I never open files from the Taskbar list unless I've a need to test.
And I don't have a network drive.

Opening from a right click from the Recent Files list on the Taskbar has
changed 1.2 to Open last used for me.
I'll make sure this is entered. Now you mention it, I have vague
memories of this issue so it may already be entered.

I wonder if anything can be done with the Network drive issue. A number
of functions in Legacy draw off the 6.1 setting so I suspect it has to
be an available path.

Thirdly, the usual way people lose their Legacy settings is deciding to
"tidy up" their Documents folder or their genealogy folders and either
rename or move ...\Documents\Legacy Family Tree\ This folder cannot be
moved or renamed. I t will simply be recreated with defaults.

Fifthly, in Options - Customise, reset both 1.2 and 6.1.
6.1 should be set to the folder where you keep your Legacy data.
With 1.2 make sure you are not only choosing the file of the right
name but
the file of the right name in the right folder.
"

However, you can lose the settings in 1.2 and 6.1 quite easily.
For 1.2 (and using Windows 10). If you right click on the Legacy icon in
the taskbar and pick a previously opened file. The default becomes "always
open this file" irrespective of what was previously set in 1.2
For 6.1. If the path is not available (such as a network location and
maybe
applies to the zip backups), then the system alters the location back
to the
factory defaults.

In both cases this is wrong. Legacy should NEVER change the user
customised
options without asking.
