Dale,
Yes Legacy has events from a Gedcom and of course imports births, deaths
etc from a properly formed gedcom.
TMG did things differently and allowed users to do things differently as
well.
I understand that TMG doesn't include all your data in a Gedcom which is
why it was/is difficult to move from TMG to another program. It seems to
talk about Tags internally and implies they're Gedcom Tags but they're
not really - especially if they were user defined.
You might try the direct import option for TMG in Legacy 9 but depending
on which features of TMG you used and how you used them, you may not be
any happier with the result. It is still being worked on. See File -
Import in Legacy to access this.
I understand that none of the other programs that offer direct import
for TMG have got it right either and Legacy's current attempt is better
than most. It should at least bring over the basic birth, death etc info
unless you've added that in some unique way.

I wrote out a GEDCOM using The Master Genealogist Version 7.04.0000
and imported it into Legacy 9.0.0.189.
There were no events. No births, no deaths, nothing.
Is there some kind of option in Legacy or the program that does the
export?
I am using Windows 7 .
Does Legacy normally have events when importing from a GEDCOM?
Thanks,
Dale
