I am using Version 8.0.0.189. I do a backup each time I close Legacy,
attaching date and time to the file name.
Recently the backup has failed every time, and I get "Backup error 508:
Cannot move temporary file to target zip file", and no backup is carried
out. However the backup location is automatically changed to Desktop for
the next time I close down. The recommended solution is to save to
Desktop, which works but that is the only place I have found I can
backup to. I then have to move the zip file, the biggest of which is
only 13,000kb, to the normal place I keep backup files which is on the
same C: drive as the Legacy database. (I periodical copy some files to
Dropbox)
Sometimes when I either close Legacy or do a deliberate backup from
File>Backup file I get the message "Error 503: Cannot open zip file".
Again I can only backup to Desktop. The Help file for this error refers
to other drives but no other drive is involved.
I have run File Maintenance> Check repair several times but it makes no
difference. This problem occurs with any of my family files. This
problem started within the last week and I have not installed any new
programs or upgrades.
The Temporary files are in Docs ...LFT\_Appdata\ Temp, and the two files
there are six months old. Should I delete these and let them start
again? What is going wrong and how do I fix it?
