The most probable reason is that your security software has blocked Legacy.
For some reason just reinstalling Legacy seems to work - the second time the security software lets it through. Who knows why? Here's as article if you need to actually add exceptions to your security software.

The normal way to update Legacy Deluxe is to use the link on the Legacy Home tab in the Update box.

Just tried to update to latest version of 9 and when it finished the screen just went blank. I tried to reopen and it wouldn't open. Then I rebooted the machine and this didn't work either, to open the program. Do I now, need to download the whole program again and reinstall? I have the deluxe version of 9. Thanks for any help!
