Thanks Chris and Ian. Chris you helped me when I merged but I didn't take the same precautions that you and Ian mentioned in this mail. I still have that merge but haven't used it, am still operating on my eight files. I should re-read all the advice and try again. The problem was all the same names, so many, now I know I can handle them incrementally. I will keep you both updated on whatever transpires in this field. So lovely to have help so readily available.
