Cathy, yes - that worked. In fact, after leaving 8.2 with Save, I could see the RIN in the Child section disappear (ie, without needing to change to another family etc). Since I don't ever want to see any of the options under that part of 8.2, I didn't think to un-check the On Family View, Pedigree ... top line
