Firstly, Legacy always saves information every time you close a display
for people, marriages, events etc. So, normally there should not be any
issues with force closing the program or PC, which is all that you can
do. When closing the PC, use Restart, not Shutdown, since that will
ensure that every thing is completely closed.
Secondly, after the restart load your Legacy file, take a backup and
then run Check/Repair to get the program to scan through the various
links between the data. Save the report file and use that to identify
problems that it had found. You might need to run that multiple times as
you make changes.
Thirdly, if your file does not load and you are left with no open file,
you can force a Check/Repair and specify the file to be scanned.
If that does not work, then you can restore from a previous backup, and
change the file name.
If you still have issues, then you will need to raise it as an issue
with the developers.

Chris

Subject [LegacyUG] Error window wont close
I hope this message gets to the right spot.
My Legacy program is frozen. Here is the situation:
one sibling in the family died less than 2 years old. The Legacy
program shows her married. I checked everything in the Marriage record
and nothing shows a marriage.
I tried to cancel the Marriage record for the child and a window opened
up stating
ERROR
Marriage was not found.
Clicking on the OK box just makes it flash and nothing else.
A red circle X when clicked does nothing.
The X in the upper right cornor of the screen to close that page is
grayed out so nothing closed.
The rest of my laptop PC is fine. I put the PC on sleep and then opened
it again but nothing changed.
I didn't want to shut the PC down and reopen because I don't know what
that will do to my Legacy records, etc.
Your help is very much needed
