That comes across well but isn't solving my dilemma.
Take the marriage source you discussed. I use that source to note the marriage,
the names of the individuals, possible the parents. Now the source is listed 2
to 4 times depending on if there are parents given. On a death record you can
have the source listed more, birth date, birth place, parents, death date, death
place, spouse and possibly marriage date. Also it could list the cemetery. So
now the source is printed in the report possibly 8 different times, each time
with a different number attached to it. It just seems more efficient if the
program would assign all the numbers to one source. OR use the same number, i.e.
give the source a specific number and reuse that number as the "footnote"
attached to the assigned field. I hope I am making myself clear.
