If it's a photo, or copy in any way it is a bona fide source, if it is a transcription, it is a second hand source. Reliable but with a minus. I consider some of the 50-60 000 bases as not reliable because they can't depend on first hand sources, but Ancestry.com and GedComs from here and there. These kind of sources may be a lead, not a prove. (Although they'll be well proved)
