Hi Cynthia,

Your family file should still be in its original location from before you reinstalled
Legacy. Unless you specifically told Legacy to store your family data file elsewhere,
I believe the default folder that Legacy creates and uses to store family data files
is
called "Data", which should be a subfolder under your Legacy folder. If your file is
not there, try the following file search:

1. Click the Windows "Start" button
2. Click "Find"
3. Click "Files of Folders..." This should bring up the "Find: All Files" window.
4. In the "Named" box of the "Name & Location" tab, type the complete file name of
your family file (if you remember it), including the .fdb extension. If you can't
remember the exact file name, type the following instead: *.fdb
5. Click the little downward pointing triangle at the right end of the "Look In" box
and
then click on C: (or whatever the letter is for your hard drive, or the partition of
your
hard drive, where you have Legacy installed)
6. Make sure the "Include Subfolders" box is checked
7. Click the "Find Now" button

The file search may take a little while depending on the size of your hard drive, and
the speed of your computer. If the search locates your family data file, just double
click on it and Legacy should start and open the file for you. In the meantime, stay
calm :-)

Hope this helps,

--pd
