I have a couple of families in my research who use the same given names
over and over ... so I go one step further and include the spouse's RIN,
thusly:
Jane (wife of John Smith [53])
All of this information is entered in the Given Name box of the
individual file.
Or if I don't know either of her names, I'll enter her in the
Given Name box simply as
(wife of John Smith [53])
Or if I know her married surname but not her husband's given
name, I'll enter him as
Batiste (husb of Alice Dobard [90])
Batiste is entered in the Surname box, (husb of Alice Dobard
[90]) is entered in the Given Name box.
I find this especially helpful when perusing the Name List, as all of
the (wife of ...) and (husb of ...) are found together. It lets me know
who I still need to run down.
