Hi John,

If you are fairly sure they are related, why not add an individual entry for them? There is no problem with isolated people in Legacy. They all show on the Index View. You can give them their own To-Dos and record the information you find about them properly. This can help in the research to find if they really are related.

I have lots of unrelated people in my database (well I guess it's only a small percentage really) as I'm trying to sort out the tangled relationship web in a small area of Dorset. It suddenly seemed easier to put in everyone I found in the area - and slowly I'm discovering who is related to whom and which ones are part of my family.

They don't show up in reports or specific gedcoms etc, so they're no trouble and are right there when I want to check when I'm using another source - and everything I know about them is fully entered and sourced when I do discover the link to my family.

Cheers,
Cathy

Hello Jack

Thanks for your advice. I do have some who I am 90% certain are related to me, I think they are my mothers cousins, Would you create a separate entry for them.
As I say I am concerned that a search of Legacy does not bring them up if they are not in an individual entry
