Pocket Genie from Northern Hills is a superb product that includes a full
2-way synchronisation with Legacy. So, if you so wish, you can upate the
data in PGenie and then bring the updates back to Legacy - or vice versa. I
tend to keep the PGenie copy "read only" so I can use it for reference
wherever I am. The synchronisation then just updates Pgenie from the Legacy
changes.

Looks, feels and works very simlar to Legacy.

Their web site is http://www.northernhillssoftware.com/

As with Legacy, support is great and there is a users forum just like this
one.

My main Legacy database is about 20mb, but on PGenie it is in many parts (1
file per table) and seems to be a total of about 8mb. I keep the files on a
CF card which avoids problems if the system crashes or the batteries run
down, but is much slower if you want to do data entry - fine for read only
though

Great value

Jack

Subject: [LegacyUG] Legacy for the PDA

Hi all,

Thinking of splashing out and buying a PDA - does anyone use one for
their research? I see there are a couple of programs for the PDA
advertised - how good are they? Any problems? How does the conversion
work ie if my Legacy file is 96MB how does that convert for Gedstar for
example?

Lots of questions for a Monday morning 8-)
