I think some of this speaks to a MUCH bigger issue. I'm an old developer who still firmly believes that applications should not install ANYTHING to any place other than their own folder. This not only makes for a clean system and simple removal of a product but also allows fully for things like running from a device like a Flash Drive. The only thing holding people back from being able to do this is Microsoft's ridiculous flawed design and Legacy's reliance on Microsoft products that work this way. Several other programming languages (non-Microsoft products) install without the need for all the garbage MS stuffs here, there and everywhere. If Legacy were to be ported to such a language, portability would become a minor issue. The issue of establishments not wanting you to run the software would still be an issue, but that's another discussion. I actually believe that it could be depending on just how much Legacy itself installs elsewhere. It's quite possible that many systems have already installed the needed Microsoft Visual Basic files needed to run.
