Hi Mary,

Have you also (in addition to checking the Report Options for "Include" - "Child Status")
    1. Clicked on "Children Settings..."
(found either by clicking on the Edit Menu and choosing "Children's Settings..." or right clicking on any child within the family and choosing "Children's Settings...",
   2. Highlighted the adopted child, and
3. Then clicked on the drop-down list arrow for "Child Status" and chose "Adopted"?

Note: Within the "Children's Settings..." screen you will also find "Relationship to Father" and "Relationship to Mother" which can show adopted status individually to each parent - such as when a step-parent adopts the children. This works similar to the "Child Status" option, but I've noticed some differences between the two when used in reports.

Kind regards,
Dan Bateham

Subject: [LegacyUG] Descendant Narrative Book - child status

Running the Descendant Narrative Book Report, latest update of Legacy.
. I've ticked "Child Status" in Report Options, but the Report does
not show adopted status.
For instance, after they married, my father and his first wife adopted
an unrelated child, Elizabeth Morwood. Later they had 3 children of
their own.
But the Report treats all 4 children as their own, thus
"Elspeth married John Lewis ... They had four children:, Elizabeth,
John, Janet, and James."
I would like the Report to show Elizabeth's adopted status, and her
surname (which she kept throughout her life).
Maybe I am missing something simple - grateful for any help.
