Hi, Dan et al. Thanks for your comments, and taking the trouble to show examples of adoptions in book reports. But alas, those children are genetically related to one of the parents, so don't fit my problem. My Elizabeth Morwood was adopted by an unrelated couple. Her name was never changed, so she has no AKA. I have set "Adopted" in the 3 fields in Children's Settings. She appears as "adopted" when she is the main person. But the family sentence implies she was their natural child. Thus - "John Lewis and Elspeth Beatson married ... they had four children, Elizabeth, John, Janet and James." Surely the Report should read .... "they had four children, Elizabeth (Morwood, adopted), John, Janet and James. I guess I need to put an explanation in the Marriage Notes. Many thanks, Mary Young Legacy User Group Etiquette guidelines can be found at: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp
