To show the actual wording found, here are a few snippets from Descendant
Narrative Reports with the following persons:
Arthur Virgil Bateham - natural father
Katherine Wallace - natural mother, wife of Arthur Virgil
Gale Everett Winslow - adoptive father, second husband of Katherine Wallace
David Virgil Bateham - natural son of Arthur and Katherine, adoptive son of
Gale.
Example 1: Showing partial Desc Nar Report with adoptive father, natural
mother, child. Notice that "(Adopted)" appears at end of main sentence for
adopted child.
Gale Everett WINSLOW-[1167]1 was born on November 16, 1929.
Gale married Katherine Charlotte "Kitty" WALLACE-[40] [MRIN: 461], daughter
of Robert Monte WALLACE-[558] and Janet Fairleigh WARD-[561], on August 3,
1951 in Spokane, Spokane Co, WA.1 The marriage ended in Divorce. Kitty was
born on April 26, 1927 in Spokane, Spokane Co, WA.2 They had four children:
David Virgil, Anthony George "Tony," Andrew, and Gale.
David Virgil BATEHAM-[41] was born on July 26, 1946 in Spokane, Spokane Co,
WA.1 Another name for David is David Virgil WINSLOW. (Adopted)
Noted events in his life were:

Example 2: Showing partial Desc Nar Report with natural father, natural
mother, child that was adopted by mother's second husband (see above).
Notice "(Adopted)" does not appear here, as it wouldn't with this family
grouping.

Adelaide CHADWICK-[8], was born on January 1, 1924 in Payette, Payette Co,
ID, died on October 21, 1994 in Seattle, King Co, WA at age 70, and was
buried on October 29, 1994 in Seattle, King Co, WA.
Arthur married Katherine Charlotte "Kitty" WALLACE-[40] [MRIN: 39], daughter
of Robert Monte WALLACE-[558] and Janet Fairleigh WARD-[561], on April 12,
1945. The marriage ended in Divorce. Kitty was born on April 26, 1927 in
Spokane, Spokane Co, WA. They had two children: David Virgil and Anthony
George "Tony".

NOTE: "(Adopted)" only shows for a "child" in the Desc Nar Report, and then
only when listed with an adoptive parent, and child status set to Adopted,
and report options set to show child status.
