I've got a problem. I have a copy of Ducatus Leodiensis, which has a few
family trees I'm interested in. I need some help with the abbreviations.

For example, one person married Ald. Jere. Barstow of Leeds. ob s.p. 20 Aug
1742.

Does anyone know what s.p. stands for?

sine proele - without children

In some locations obt is before a
date, so I presume ob and obt are obituary, so I can use this as a death
date.

Does anyone know what Ald. Jere. would be short for? I know most name
abbreviatios, but these are new to me.

Perhaps Alderman Jeremiah

I also have a Mr Robt Jackson, Rector of Tatham, Com, Lane.
Does anyone know what Com. Lane. stands for?

Can't help here!

Cheers
