Thank you for the responses. I have the Word 97 bundle tucked away
somewhere, that's why I wondered if it came with Word. But obviously 97 is
too old. I gave the 2000 bundle to my daughter. When I bought my last
computer, I finally had a choice and it came without.

Sounds like there's a high learning curve with Access, so it's not for me.
