The quickest way to install Legacy on your laptop would be to use the
Legacy Setup program (the one you downloaded) from a CD.  If you have a
CD burner in your desktop computer, and you saved the Legacy
installation program, you're all set.

Another way, if you don't have a CD burner, would be to transfer the
setup program to the laptop via a flash drive (AKA jump drive, pen
drive etc.  You could possibly pick one up tonight at a discount store
that's open late.  Useful tool!)

Or if your computers are networked, move the setup program through the
network.

Rather than move your data via Gedcom, it would be better to Backup
your family files through Legacy, then Restore into the laptop.  Here's
another place a flash drive could come in handy.
