Hi Lynne, I would say buy the deluxe version. Get the download version and with the good exchange rate it's less than a decent night in the pub. Apart from the extra features continued development of Legacy depends on people upgrading.
With regards to suitability for UK ancestry, I'm English but one of my grandmothers was a New Yorker of partly New York Dutch descent. I have found found Legacy suitable for all my ancestors, whether they are English miners or New Amsterdam colonists. I've never used the videos so can't comment but I would recommend buying the book "Getting It Right:The Definitive Guide to Recording Family History Accurately" by Mary H. Slawson.
