David,

I think you speak for the "Silent Majority". At least, there are 2 of us.

To all Legacy email list members:

Please note that this is not intended as a flame directed at any individual, but it is meant to vent my own frustrations at what is going on too often on
this email list.

I have been using Legacy "from the beginning" and I love it. Of course there
are some bugs - but what software program does not have bugs?

Frankly, I look to the list to read questions and responses, including
work-arounds for issues, but I am really getting tired of hearing complaints
that are just repeats ad nauseam of the same issues already expressed many
times before. A request for a change is fine ONE time or a report of
"possibly" finding a bug. But when the same issues the "me too" folks report
500+ times - those are complaints ad nausem and not helpful suggestions.

Perhaps a solution would be for the Millennia folks to set up an on-line
site linked to their main site that could be accessed by users to report
feature requests or bugs. If someone wants a program modification or wants
to report a bug, that would be the place to go - AFTER checking to see if
it's already been reported ONCE. I have faith that the Millennia folks can
read as well as the rest of us (or better than some) and will work with
those user requests as soon as possible - or provide work-arounds in the
meantime.

Perhaps if such a site were created as a link from the main Millennia site,
the complaints would stop on this list - or at least I would hope so. It
not, it tells me there are people who find pleasure in complaining - and
perhaps go through life looking for bad things or bad things to happen in
the best of situations. If so, I would appreciate them just dropping Legacy
if they simply want to complain in a non-helpful way.

For starters, could we please stop using such negative Subject lead-ins as
"Legacy Version 6 Lost Battle" ad nauseam?

Example of a repeated negative email I received recently that was not
helpful:

Subject: RE: [LegacyUG] Legacy Version 6 Lost Battle

"(Snip) It seems Millennia should have done a little research before
implementing the Research Guidance module. (Snip) is a total waste (Snip)
It is entirely too cumbersome to be useful."

"I'm not sure why Millennia is more interested in bells and whistles
than they are in releasing a program that doesn't have a lot of
bugs that are reported over and over and yet there seems to be no
attempt to fix them."
