Jonathan,

You should see the changes to the Long Name in the "Core +" and "Core"
fields at the top of the Geo Location Database window. To actually see the
changes to the Short Name, you have to select either "Core +" or "Core".

It worked for me using the file name with the "-Alt" extension. Maybe you
need to capitalize the "A" in "Alt".

This is very cool. Now I don't have to edit the location names every time I
use the Geo Location Database.

Subject: RE: [LegacyUG] Search and Replace

Thanks Don,
tried removing asterisks to add Co. to short and long names, as per
below, renaming file to GeoExtraCodes-alt.txt and nothing happens. If I
search the geobase for Norwich, Connecticut the search screen finds:
Norwich, New London, Connecticut, USA
I choose select and then it gives
Master
Norwich, Connecticut
Norwich, New London, Connecticut, USA
Short Location name....
Norwich, Connecticut
Norwich, New London, CT, USA

i.e. does NOT add Co. to county.
Doing something wrong?
Jonathan
