Is anyone still using Leo 3.x for anything? It may be time to
withdraw support for all versions of Leo prior to Leo 4.0. Would
anyone object if I did so?

The proposal primarily affects files derived from @file that were
created by Leo 3.x: the new sax-graph code will not be able to read
such files.

At present, converting a Leo 3.x file to Leo 4.x is simply a matter of
reading the old file with Leo, and then saving it. You can ensure that
all derived files are in the 4.x format by using the write-at-file-
nodes command. My proposal would eliminate these options when we start
using the sax-graph world.

Leo 4.0 was released in October, 2003, so people have had 4 1/2 years
to upgrade. I think that is enough time :-)

If you have concerns about this, now is time to say so.

P.S. I want to retire the 3.x code because a) it is ugly and b) I
don't know how to adapt it for the sax-graph world. Furthermore, I
doubt it I could test the new code well enough to be reliable.
