Actually, you are right.  The 3.x read code only applies to @file
nodes, and for such trees the .leo file contains redundant info.  So
one way to recover data is to delete the derived files!  Leo will
recreate the @file trees when reading the .leo file, and then the
derived files can be rewritten.

It's unlikely anyone will ever do this, but is yet another reason to
believe that retiring the 3.x read code will be safe.
