Hi LordMax, I found similar problem while using new Leo install on portable python at another machine, it failed to run in that new install.
Further trials by reinstalling new Python25, new or old build of Leo all failed. Finally, I found out the cause: You must have contents in the directory of C:\Documents and Settings \Administrator\.leo. Fresh install doesn't have it and failed after finding no objects. My simple solution is copying all the directory to the new machine and it worked.
