Interesting.  Just to clarify, py2.6 is needed to handle incompatible
exception syntax in py3.0.

It's not likely that any new incompatibilities have been added.  In
particular, the typical exception syntax works fine on py2.5.  It's
only the "as" syntax that causes problems.
