Imo, making Leo's > core Qt-centric would not simplify it in any meaningful way. It might not simplify it for you (as you know it well), but it would simplify the code for other people. Knowing how Qt widgets work is general/commodity knowledge - knowing how Leo's wrappers for the same work is specialized domain level knowledge.
