Documenting free_layout is on my todo list, (see screen shot
#2 :-), but this isn't hard to do.  You set up the layout the way you
want it with the right-click context menu of the splitter dividers, then
use the Save Layout menu item from that same menu, and it's done.  The
layout will be loaded for that .leo file every time it's loaded.
