This is a FAQ: there is no possible way to do that, or even to make
sense of what it would mean.

If you want a node without children, create it yourself :-)  This will
be easy to do if you create outlines using scripts.

Having said that, in the mythical "client-server" world, one could
image nodes whose body text (and possibly even head text) were
"linked" to other nodes.  Changing, say, body text of one node could
cause the body text of linked nodes to change.
