This is a FAQ: there is no possible way to do that, or even to make sense of what it would mean. If you want a node without children, create it yourself :-) This will be easy to do if you create outlines using scripts. Having said that, in the mythical "client-server" world, one could image nodes whose body text (and possibly even head text) were "linked" to other nodes.
