I think you will find that Leo is extremely fast. From looking at your demo, it's probably easier to use than VO. For example, with the default bindings, once focus is in the outline pane, you can expand, contract and select nodes with *plain* arrow keys. > As a matter of fact, the way I'd plan to use the new outliner, whether > it's Leo or something we make, is do the majority of the entry in > classic VO, and then convert it to the new thing to add all the > features. I am working on this. It will require something called @auto-otl, by analogy with an existing feature, @auto-rst. This will allow you to edit any otl format file (regardless of file extension) in Leo *and* in vim. You won't have to choose between Leo and vim: you can use either all the time. >> I still love and use VO nearly every day. But, I believe, we can do >> better with a better engine. This was mostly caused by using the mouse, but improper habits with Shift, Alt and Ctrl keys also played a part. It's vital *always* to use two hands when using modifier keys. Having said that, Leo is supposed to be configurable so that it can be used more like vim than emacs. However, I'm not sure how the present vim-like bindings will go over with real vim users...
