ssh -X > How will Leo work on my Android phone I can't imagine using Leo on a tiny screen. VO would be quite a challenge too, especially without hoisting. Leo has hoisting, but it uses quite a bit of real-estate. > (that's the very important one for me ... notice > http://is.gd/RCorBP ... no, it doesn't have multibyte, which is a > deal breaker for me, and I have no clue about plugins, but there is > hope)? > > I'll have to try Leo, but I already feel quite uneasy about it, I > have to admit. You can ease your mind, because if you like the current VO, you can use it forever. The new outliner, whether it's Leo, something we make, or something else, will serve a different purpose than VO. In the discussion a month ago, I think we were all on the same page that VO 0.3.6 or whatever we're up to now will exist forever, with maintenance consisting simply of bug fixes and fixes to adapt to newer Vim's and Linuxes and (urk) Windowses. So worst case you'd use the current VO with its current capabilities on your Android forever. The other thing to realize is whether or not we adopt Leo as "the new thing", it's an outstanding programming outliner tightly integrated with the VO community's favorite language, Python. I'm not sure, but I think you can run a command and create an app from your outline (some headlines' body text are actual Python code in order to do this). I think Leo is also an excellent outliner in which to do GTD etc. In other words, Leo's a good thing to know, whether or not it's what we eventually transition to it.
