Most apps like Leo have some command line switch to control which, if any, settings are read. Leo has --no-plugins, but not --no-settings, --settings <filename>, --no-user-settings etc. Seems like adding those might be the way to go, that could then be used to make an "EasyLeo" shortcut which uses --setings .../leo/conf/leoSettingsSimple.leo.
