+1, for both points. A solution for the second point would be for the log pane to flash (perhaps controlled by a @bool flash-log-on-new-warning-messages) when a warning-class message comes up. By flash I mean invert colors (fg+bg) a few times. A warning-class message could be any message with color='warning', for example, which could also be controlled by a setting, '@string log-warning-color = red'.
