I agree. It would be nice, however, to have the shown-for-editing part visually differentiated while editing. For instance, this could be done via colorizing, or with a different font, or both, so as to visually set the metadata apart from the headline text. This way the nuts and bolts would remain the same, but the user interface would be improved.
