I should emphasize that Leo reads and writes picture characters without 
problem, because *picture characters are normal unicode characters*:

- Picture characters will not harm scripts provided they are in comments.

- Unicode-aware programs (including legacy Leo) will show those characters like 
this <http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/fffc/index.htm>.
