He's using the Linux version and the PLM isn't available there yet. I got
a patch this week that adds some of its functionality so you'll be able to
import LDraw pieces but I haven't had time to apply it yet, I'll try to
remember to check it in this weekend and get a new rpm/deb uploaded.

  There used to be a message when a piece was imported successfully but I
remember it driving me crazy when I had to import an entire LDraw update so
I disabled it, I shouldn't have checked that in and I'll revert it back.
