The pieces file is the same for any platform, you can just copy it over
from a Windows machine (or see my last message about the latest patch).

  I was thinking about a single message at the end of the import, something
like "100 pieces imported successfully". That way it gives some information
and isn't annoying when doing batch imports or maybe have a progress bar
instead (there's already a reusable progress bar dialog in the project that
should be fairly easy to call). The imports really need some better error
reporting, I believe it just silently ignores missing files and other non
fatal errors.
