There were two regressions in revision 1626: dragging rotated pieces would
quickly send them towards infinity, and rotating the camera would introduce
roll. The attached patch fixes both issues.

It also contains an unrelated change:
Inverting the rotation direction when the camera is upside down seemed like
a good idea when I implemented, but I quickly removed that in my local
checkout as it doesn't behave well when looking (almost) straight down or
up. Didn't realize until now that I never sent a patch for it.
