the probelm is that motif is still the best around and NEdit has no
replacement! But perhaps it is one of the few good apps still around and
maintained on  motif.
I hope it is enough to keep lesstif alive. GTK2 is for sure not the right
too.

I myself am more and more int GNUstep, but it is a totally different
philosphy and it lacks a nice powerful but sleek editor like nedit. In fact
I use either nedit or gvim-motif to code gnustep :)
