Maybe I misunderstand, but if you mean
make DESTDIR=$MY_SANDBOX install
then Xorg 6.8.2 already supports that.
PS:
Do you really need a full 32 bit X11 environment with extensions and drivers
and everything?
Do 32-bit apps not run on a 64-bit XServer?
