Not necessarily. For instance, if I log in via ssh it updates the port and the time. If I then log in via a tty, I will see the time from the ssh login. A cursory glance may cause one to think it is working, since it shows a time, but the time may not be from the tty login. Anyway, works for me doesn't really fix the situation. Did you deviate in anyway?
