Everybody has their own way of doing things. I prefer to only have the users/groups in my files that are necessary for the packages I install. That way if a number comes up on a ls -l, it flags the problem right away. You may want to do things differently. That's OK. However, there is a master BLFS (not LFS) list in the BLFS book.
