Though i have yet to use it myself, i'd be interested in reading such a 
review of *Paludis*, at least for comparative purposes.

One feature particularly caught my eye:- "Support for repositories 
containing things other than ebuilds". I've been unable thus far to 
determine the precise extent of that support, but it seems to suggest 
that the PM could be androgenous, & therefore well-suited to a user-base 
with diverse prior experience of other PM's & their various spec-file 
flavours.

It also appears to support & indeed endorse the running of test-suites, 
something i'm unqualified to comment on with regard to other PM's.
